A mix of work i did in school all relating to game design
This was the final product of my CA2 under my level and world design module, i was in a team of 4 to create a horror game. Each of us created our specific levels, i was in charge of creating the last level.
We were given a template to use to help set up the entire game but majority of the code was done by the 2 coders on our team, my teammate and i were in charge of the art and the design of the UI
Game Abstract
Kawakami Honoka has been dealing with an online stalker for awhile now, being a member of a small underground idol group was what led a fan with unhealthy obsession to uncover everything he can about her. Now he’s desperate to get her for himself, Honoka must escape as fast as possible to the police station to save herself from him.
This is a video of the entire game from start to finish
I was in charge of creating the final levels, level 4 and 4.5. Both levels are called The neighbourhood and The police station respectively
Neighbourhood – The neighbourhood is the last level in the game and aims to try and incorporate all mechanics players learn in previous levels, it’s similar to level 3 in that it’s technically a maze where players must make their way to the police station while avoiding the stalker who’s actively looking for them. The layout of the neighbourhood was made in a way that would always lead the player to the police station eventually no matter which route they took, there are dead ends but there is always a hiding spot in the dead ends for the player to lose the stalker if they are being chased.
Police station – The police station is a unique “level”, it’s not meant to be an actual level with mechanics and mainly serves as a place where players end the game and get 1 of 2 endings. If the player doesn’t have the key items [at least 2 photos of the stalker] required, they will have to play a minigame where they must guess which person is the stalker. If they fail the minigame they will get the bad ending. Having the required key items will just play the cut scene for the good ending and there will be no minigame.
This video below shows the pure good ending where the player has more than 2 photos.
These are the following endings you can get in our game.
I made a board and card game with as a group with 2 other people, we had to create a serious game that educates people; aged 15 – 35, on municipal issues commonly found in HBDs
A tutorial video on how the game is meant to be played
UI/HUD wireframing i did for 2 different game design documents, one was meant to be a RPG that has a core mechanic of combat while the other was meant to be a management simulator game
The RPG that has a core mechanic of combat, i took heavy inspiration from Fromsoft games such as Bloodborne and Elden ring. Below is a PDF of my game design document.
I wanted to do a medieval bathhouse manager that has has comedy elements in it, i took inspiration from games like Hot springs story, made by Kairosoft.
